Taya Paulino, MFTI
Therapist Intern
I believe that healing happens through connection. Our relationships with ourselves, our families, and our communities shape who we are and how we grow. When these relationships feel stuck or painful, therapy can be a place to rediscover balance, hope, and understanding.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern at Lakewood Family Therapy, I am passionate about working with individuals, families, teens, and children. My approach is systemic, focusing on how relationships and environments influence emotional well-being. I enjoy supporting clients as they navigate anxiety, trauma, identity development, and life transitions.
Before beginning my journey as a therapist, I spent over eight years working with autistic adults and children, as well as individuals in foster care and those living with developmental disabilities and mental illnesses. These experiences deepened my appreciation for each person’s unique story and strengthened my belief in every individual’s capacity for growth and connection. I strive to create a warm, inclusive, and collaborative space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to create meaningful change.
I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at National University. Outside the therapy room, I love traveling, spending time with my puppy, and cooking.
